Through Semodo Career, we collect the following types of data:

3. How do we use your data?
We use your data to:
- Provide the core Semodo Career service
- Enable AI-powered features like assignment enrichment and activity categorization
- Generate CV exports and portfolio summaries
- Send important service notifications
- Improve the product based on usage patterns
We never send newsletters, marketing, or spam without your explicit consent.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal data based on contract performance (GDPR Article 6.1.b) for core service features and consent (GDPR Article 6.1.a) for optional features. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
5. How is your data stored?
All user data is stored on Microsoft Azure in Sweden (Sweden Central). This ensures your data stays within the EU and is covered by GDPR.
AI features use Azure OpenAI services. Data sent to AI services is processed according to Microsoft's data processing terms and is not used to train AI models.
We operate our own authentication service for secure login via email or social accounts (such as Google). The authentication service processes only the minimum data required for login functionality (email address and, where applicable, encrypted credentials).
6. Sharing with third parties
We never share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third parties processing data are:
- Microsoft Azure – hosting and database storage
- Azure OpenAI – AI processing for enrichment features
- Plausible Analytics – privacy-friendly website analytics (no cookies, no personal data)
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Ask us to delete your data
- Restriction: Restrict the processing of your data
- Data portability: Receive your data in machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing

8. Retention period
We store your data as long as needed to fulfill the purpose:
- User accounts: As long as the account is active + 90 days after closure
- CV exports: 30 days retention with automatic cleanup
- LLM usage logs: Anonymized after 90 days
9. Cookies
This application uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies.
For website analytics, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users. Plausible is GDPR compliant and hosted in the EU.
10. Changes to the policy
We may update this policy as needed. Significant changes are communicated via email to registered users. The latest version is always available on this page.
